  1. Anyone know if these are in the country yet? Looking forward to mine. Paul
  2. Saltend is a chemical plant which dispatched acetic acid by Rail i know there were flows to Spondon, Mostyn and Baglan Bay. There may have been others. As James said the traffic now goes by Pipe Line. Also There was a large plant at Barton on Humber till the mid 90's - Albright & Wilson? Paul
  3. The letter also states there is an easy payment option 'interest free' for a one off payment of £5. Paul
  4. Whilst it looks like a BD compared to the image of 5901 on wikipedia it is apparent that the small cab 'a ' window does not quite meet a point, the area under the cab door is a bit out and the circular gauge near the nose end could be larger. These apart and so long as their is no repeat of the clayton motor issue it will do for me. Just a note that the Heljan 15 is my best runner on circle st!! Paul
  5. There are a few more pictures of 70012 here: http://railwayeye.blogspot.com/ Paul
  6. I see the saga of 70012 has made the national papers as there was a mention of the incident in todays Daily Star. Paul
  7. Well done to the winner. A fantastic layout. My own Circle street will continue and is currently awaiting a Baby Deltic! Paul
  8. Whilst it seems to run ok, they could have got a bit closer with the camera!! Paul
  9. Setting off for Model Rail live in 30 mins

  10. Great pictures! I have had haulage behind 25109 from Hull in the mid 80's! Paul
  11. A modern style large supermarket or DIY store - maybe in low relief would be nice. Paul
  12. Sat in the garden with the laptop having a beer or 3!

  13. Thats it Dave! Get it in 'How realistic are your models' thread! And the winner is....!!!!! Paul
  14. Agreed! Just crop out that brute on the left and thats it! Amazing. Paul
  15. Looks promising, and a nice model to build a small layout around! Paul
  16. A blue one and a green one for me. Amazing! Heljan will be VERY busy over the next year or so. In production is Lion, Class 23, Various rail buses, class 76, Blue Pullman and now the class 28. Ambitious to say the least! Paul
  17. If it is the chassis problem you are not the first to have it on a class 50. I reported on the previous version of RM web that one of my 50's had a cracked body along with a 60. I informed Hornby who replied & asked for details around a year ago. I have emailed them again but await a reply. The marker lights look good bt the way! Paul
  18. Iam 99% certain that the model is 1/50th scale. Paul
  19. what a super layout MM. Love the shed with the sheet iron. By the way it's not just another TMD layout. It's a layout in in it's own right. There are just as many branch line terminus layouts! I love TMD layouts ( mine is Four Feet lane) especially everyones different interpretations of them. Keep us posted with pics. Paul
  20. I have just had a look at mine. I apologise - as a closer inspection revealed that with the angle of the bogie one sandbox is away from the body whilst the other is under the buffer beam. This has caused the rear wheel on the bogie to lift just slightly off the railhead. This give the impression to me that all was ok - since i had no derailments. Once again apologies for getting anyone excited! Looks like i will be taking a file to it. Paul
  21. Yes. I attached them without removing the body. Since the loco will be used on my circle street layout (Second radius) and the bogies are at a constant angle i have not had any problems. The only thing i cannot attach are the ladders next to the bogies as due to the track radius they get knocked off. Paul
  22. Thanks for that Stewart. I will have to look out for the Bachmann Suburban MK1's - amongst others. Paul
  23. Which RTR coaching stock would be suitable for the class 23's? Also were they known to haul freight too? Paul
