  1. Great to see you posting Polly. Look after yourself. My day has not gone to plan. This morning the heating was on but no hot water. An investigation found that there is an issue with the timer where if the heating is on, there isn't enough power to operate the relay for the hot water. I had 2 options. Option 1 - Get someone out to deal with the problem. £200+. Option 2 - Source a timer myself and replace it £70. Obviously option 2 won. Timer changed and now waiting for hot water. Must be time for another coffee.
  2. Morning all. -1 outside at the moment but it is forecast to warm up later. Not a great deal planned for the day. A bit of shopping later on to replenish the model paint stock followed by some modelling. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  3. A day of staying warm and dry today. I've spent most of the day paining the undergubbins of various kit built wagons in preparation for transfers to be applied. Tomorrow might be a different story though as I have to replenish some paint stock.
  4. Thanks Tony. I hope that you enjoyed the show and that the return journey wasn't too bad. I still have comparison photos to do for Andy which is on my list for tomorrow. The journey back was 7 hours but it could have been a lot worse.
  5. Morning all. A wet and windy day and it can stay like that as I don't plan to be going anywhere. Some sorting out from being away to be done, but, other than that some modelling may be attempted. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  6. Hi Bob. I have to agree with Andy. A stunning little layout with loads of detail. I'm seriously impressed. Thanks for the assistance with the Q1. Hope to see more of your work soon.
  7. Well, as Andy has already mentioned, the show was cancelled. I left at 10:30 and eventually got home 7 hours later. Many single vehicle accidents including a HGV into the central reservation on the M40. I'd like to know how. I lost count of the number of idiots who shouldn't have a licence let alone be allowed to drive in the snow. Time to relax with a coffee and maybe some modelling will get done later.
  8. Morning all. Snow here but nothing too serious. A decent nights sleep which I needed as today could be a long one. Time to de-snow the car and head to the club. I hope that today is as good as yesterday. The drive home this evening could be interesting but at least I don't have to get back for work in the morning. Have a good day everyone
  9. Tony. As Andy says, gret to finally put a face to the name. I hope you weren't too late getting home.
  10. Andy. Remind me in the morning to take some photos with the Q1 along side a clean one
  11. Ian - A shock and at a young age as well. A great day at the club even though the numbers were a bit down on last year. It was certanily an RMWeb meeting with Clive Mortimore, myself, Andy P, Tony / Mulgabill, Bob / 86902 and Peter BB all in attendance. Some excellent weathering done by Andy P including my Q1 which now looks extremely well used. A quantity of modelling tokens were disposed of for a couple of locos and some wagons to add to the roster. All of this was finished of with a meal with Peter BB and his good wife. All in all a cracking day which, with the forecast permitting, will be had again tomorrow before heading home. Time for another coffee.
  12. An excellent day with some interesting conversations and great company. Here's hoping that tomorrow isn't as bad as forecast.
  13. Morning all. Another cold morning but at least there is no snow here, yet. A terrible nights sleep thanks to the drunk cockwomble in the next room. He returned at 01:30 and started to have an argument with himself for over an hour. When he eventually decided to go to bed, his snoring would have drowned out a chainsaw. On to today. A full English consumed to prepare me for the day at the club. Time to de-ice the car. Have a good day everyone.
  14. Congratulations Andy. Well deserved
  15. Although it was cold today and I needed the heated windscreen for a change, a good day has been had. My visit to the modelling emporium saw me part with several modelling tokens. This was followed by a bit of required shopping. The remainder of the day so far has been research, which, considering the weather was probably a good idea. Back up to the club later to help finish setting up for the weekend. I might even get to run the M7 before sound fitting it later tonight. Ian - Great to see you posting on here again. Time, for yet another coffee.
  16. Morning all. A cold and crispy morning and it looks like there was a light dusting of snow last night. A full English has already been consumed and a relaxing day is planned with a visit to my favourite model shop when I'm in this part of the country. GDB - Make the most of it. I can't see it lasting. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  17. A useful trip to the club where I actually managed to provide some help. Followed by a visit to Andy's where an interesting discussion took place along with a coffee. A bit of shopping planned for tomorrow before helping at the club again prior to the weekend.
  18. A reasonable journey to Derbyshire despite numerous cockwombles on the roads. A couple of mugs of coffee are in order before heading out to meet Andy P
  19. Morning all. A wet and wild night outside. I'm just glad that I wasn't out in it. Final bits to do before heading to Derbyshire. I will probably take my time with the journey. Time for another coffee' Have a good day everyone.
