  1. Morning all. Not a good nights sleep but it will have to do. Back to the midlands today which I'm not looking forward to. Rick - Best of luck with the interview. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  2. A long but fairly relaxing work day and a lot achieved. Tomorrow could be a different story though. Smiffy - Great to see you back. AndyB - I really hope that it works out for you. Night all.
  3. Morning all. I've been unexpectedly AWOL for three days thanks to having to cover some emergency works on schools so that they can open on time. All of these have been thanks to other companys and contractors not being willing to commit the manpower or work later than normal. Obviously I haven't got time to catch up on everything that has been going on , so, I'll offer my generic C & C's as appropriate. I'm sort of back to normal today, working from home this morning before going out to one of the schools to carry out some fine tuning on the programming. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  4. Morning all. A wet start to the day which hasn't put me in the right frame of mind for a long drive on my first day back especially after a lousy nights sleep. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone
  5. A day of washing and ironing has been completed thankfully. An early start tomorrow for my first day back and I have a feeling that it will be one of the infamous long ones. Night all.
  6. Morning all. After not having been online for the last two days, I will have to offer generic C & C's. There's far too much to wade through. Friday I left Devon at the time that I'd hoped for. I had forgotten to take into account the volume of traffic combined with cockwomble drivers who couldn't concentrate long enough not to have an accident. This meant that I arrived at my friends place nearly two hours late. A quick shower and change before heading out for a meal and a couple of drinks before heading back for a late night of catching up. Yesterday was a late start and after a full english, found me heading home in similar traffic to Friday. Getting home at 18:00 I found that for some reason the broadband connection wasn't working which took a couple of hours to resolve before unpacking and sorting out the first lot of washing. I then had a conversation with my dad who is the full time carer for my mum informed me that they hadn't had any hot water for 6 days. It transpires that they had contcted the heating company on Tuesday and attended on Wednesday. The engineer wasn't too sure of the problem but thought that it was the thermostat but had to order one and they might be back tomorrow. Having had a look, it probably is the thermostat and I can pick one up today from a whole host of DIY stores for under £20.I wonder what my day is going to entail. There will be a very strongly worded email sent especially after leaving elderly people without hot water for this long. The remainder of my day will be washing and ironing so hopefully I'll be back later. Have a good day everyone.
  7. Morning all from a sunny South Devon. My last morning swim here has been dully accomplished and breakfast consumed. A relaxed morning of packing before heading off hopefully somewhere around 14:00. First though, time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  8. A changeable day of rain, sun, rain, sun etc. Some modelling done but not a great deal as I've started packing so that I can head off at a decent time tomorrow for an overnight stay elsewhere with a bit of a social before heading home Saturday afternoon. That at least gives me Sunday to recover before starting bak to work. This is one of the kits that I've been working on when the rain descended. Still some more to do before I'm happy with it. GDB - Excellent news about Steve. An impressive recovery. Night all
  9. You constantly amaze me with the standard of the scenery. Now the point rodding is complete are you going to colour it before ballasting? Something like this
  10. Morning all. A bright, sunny but windy start to the day but I think that showers will arrive this afternoon. Morning swim has been completed in a slightly rougher sea which I found to be much more pleasant. A trip out in a while to Axminster for some paint required for the model kits that I've been working on. GDB - Seriously great news about Steve. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  11. I honestly don't know where the time has gone today yesterday. I thought that I'd spend a couple of hours on a couple of small kits. Night all
  12. Cracking work on the point rodding. I've made some notes for the time (long distant at the moment) when I need to do it.
  13. Morning all. Persistant precipitation has changed my plans for the day. An early swim was undertaken but after the heat of the last few days followed by the rain will probably mean lots of accidents on the roads. So, for my own sanity and safety I've decided to stay where I am and possibly do some modelling. Time for another coffee. Have good day everyone.
  14. An extended shopping trip for essentials. I'd decided to go to Honiton for a change and bumped into a colleague of mine from many years ago. After a few coffees and a meal this evening I tool a very late drive back. Great to catch up. However, tomorrows plan of walking on Dartmoor might be cancelled if I'm not up early enough. Neil - Good to hear that there is no serious damage. Many drivers couldn't find the end of their noses without help. Night all
  15. Morning all. An overcast and cooler day in the South West. The sea is still like a mill pond and is definitely chillier than the last few days. Off out a bit later to re-supply the essentials but first, time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  16. A blisteringly hot day on the South Devon coast but I still went for a walk through the village to get some photos of the historic buildings. By the time I got back after 5 miles I was ready to rest in the coolest place, the caravan. Many cockwombles were observed during my walk mainly driving far too fast through the village which is only single track in the majority of places. Not a great deal done this afternoon. Flavio - You certainly deserve everything to go to plan. Best of luck. Back later.
  17. Morning all. Morning swim completed in yet another flat calm sea. Not a great deal planned for the day with temperatures forecast to reach 25 later. GDB - Great to hear of Steve's improvement. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  18. Dom - Congratulations to you and Elise on the arrival of Annika. Spend as much time with her as you can, they grow up too fast. Night all
  19. A good day with plenty of sun and I even enjoyed watching the GP. I was trying to keep myself up to date with the rest of the forum but the wifi connection here was overloaded making it impossible for the pages to load. Back later (I hope)
  20. Morning all. Late on parade as I decided to extend my morning swim to 2 miles as I'm not planning on walking (or driving) anywhere today. A day of taking it easy enjoying the sun with an interruption for the GP. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
  21. Morning all. MY morning swim has been completed but I didn't particularly enjoy it as it was so calm I might have been in a swimming pool. Not a great deal planned except staying off the roads to avoid the hoards. Time for another coffee. Have a good day everyone.
