Pleased to also get the voussoirs to align with the stonework in the under-arch-liner. That is just showing off!!! I would say 2+ hours well spent. Excellent work young Jeff.

Good Afternoon Jeff I'm back home and here's another pic for you of the very same wall. The wall in the 2 pics last week was rebuilt not that many years ago and probably helps to explain the neat rows of stones, also the bloke that did it is one of the very best wallers I've ever seen, no, it was definitely not me! This pic is to the left of last weeks and you can see where old meets new, also bang goes what I was told as the cams on the original wall are facing uphill! Not a problem with uneven stones at all. You can build your walls exactly how you like and I will find you a prototype to match! Excellent work as always. Chip

Good Morning Jeff I'll be following this (and Hell Ghyll Sidings) just as closely as Gill Head as I keep thinking about something similar, I'm very good at thinking, very poor at doing! As you know I've always been a fan of your walls and I must say the new walling is even better, the wall looks fantastic, but the first thing that struck me were the "Cams" (as we call them, Capping/ Coping stones, I think different places call them different names) just jumped out at me as looking wrong. I see your diagrams have them all standing upright, (I have seen walls like that), but the reason they look wrong (to me anyway) is they should IMHO all be leaning the same way and if there is any slope on the wall they should be leaning downhill, that is how I was taught to place them many many years ago. This is purely my opinion and not a criticism of your excellent walling Lord Lunester. Poor pics attached taken on a damp morning in Orton. Chip

Good Morning Jeff I most certainly am still happy with the progress and the quality, it is just stunning, when I have to look at a picture 2/3 times to decide if it's real or if it's a model, that says it all about the quality, as for progress, what sort of fertiliser are you feeding the bushes in the lane on, I need some for my garden, I wish my veggies would grow half as fast as them bushes have. That picture with the 2 wall gaps is just fantastic, you just cannot tell where the model ends and the backscene starts. As you know I don't usually bother with the "likes", but them 2 sheep going for a pint just HAD to have one, absolutely fantastic. Keep up the excellent work and one day I'll be knocking on your door for a closer look. Chip

Good evening Jeff and all Lunesters I'm glad you've incorporated one of these, But how about one of these? As soon as I saw it yesterday I thought of Gill Head, but, just like the stile, I realised it could not go in a railway boundary wall, but it could go in another wall on the layout. Then I read Ali G's suggestion, I think that's a fantastic idea and a genuine reason for a stile in a railway wall. Keep up the excellent work and one day this summer I'm coming down your way. Chip.

Hi Jeff "Apologies to those of you who expected KL2 to have lots of trains moving around....." No need to apologise on my behalf. Several years ago myself and a friend went to that little layout in Hamburg, whilst looking around my mate asked "When did you last notice a train?" There is so much more to a model railway than trains. It's your model railway for you to do what you want with and I'm happy that you choose to share what you do with the rest of us. Good evening Jeff They look like windows to me! I agreed with Bodge when you just had the vertical bars in, but they look a lot better now I honestly have not got a clue about KS's windows, but I MIGHT call in on my way past soon with a piece of photographic equipment just to check that yours are up to scratch!! Hello Jeff I have a question for you. Did you ever get/still have any of Bodge's 6" nails? This is what to do if your post's are not tall enough, yes they really were fastened together with 6" nails! This is absolutely prototypical as that is Lunds Viaduct just to the left of the post. Keep up the good work Sir. Chip. P.S. Don't ask me how you get a 6" nail through a match, I'll leave you to work that one out!

Good evening Jeff Piccies deserve piccies I think, so here (hopefully) goes some reference material for you, first a couple of gaps that have been "singled" up, stones stacked up as a temporary repair and the rest still lying on the ground. Or where just a couple of "cams" (as we call them this side of the Pennines) have slipped off the top. Just be thankful that these next two photo's are no where near the S&C, but as soon as i saw this I thought of "Jeff and his walls, now there's a challenge", but I have not seen anything like this before, it is actually next to a reservoir in Lancashire. A stone built "Kissing gate", different! Keep up the excellent work and I DO read every word as well as look at every picture and I appreciate the effort you put in to YOUR model and the time YOU spend on RMweb so that the rest of us can enjoy this masterpiece as well. Hi Jeff Sorry to disappoint, but absolutely nothing, zilch, nowt. Flat out working at the moment through the week and next weekend is a busy one, but you never know, if the sun is shining and I'm not busy I think I can persuade my mountain bike and camera to have a ride out. Hi Jeff Love that 2nd photo with the viaduct in the distance and that wall running across and up the fell just looks the dogs danglies. Superb angle as the track looks as if it just goes over the viaduct and straight into the hillside and comes out somewhere on the other side of the hill, you would never think it comes back round under it, unless of course you knew (like we all do!). Quite surprised you've done anything indoors today if the weather is anything like it is this side of the Pennines, today must be summer. Keep up the excellent work, but at your own pace when YOU feel like it. Chip
