Testing appears to have begun on the Cromer/Sheringham branch.

Whilst at Norwich yesterday morning, there were a few cancellations due to "train faults". One Great Yarmouth and one Cambridge service. Not 100% sure it was the bi-modes, but I couldn't help assuming.

Still a fair amount of issues with the 755s, 755422 entered service this week and managed to fail on it's first run but they are slowly settling down.

Noticed what looks like a 745 on test in platform 6 at Liverpool Street - the decals for coaches J and H certainly seem to suggest it's not a 755? Hopefully getting closer to a service introduction?

It's really noticeable how low to platform it looks compared to everything else.

I was already on a Mk3 set headed out when I noticed it, so pic over people's heads out of the window! Coincidentally, there are apparently only two working toilets on this Mk3 set - in first class only. Old fleet being run down, or just a water filling issue or something?

745003 (iirc) - worked back to Norwich. The Inter City sets are still a good way off coming into service, GA are concentrating on the 755/4 sets, then the 3 cars and finally the Stansted / I/C sets but things may change of course.

For the record, the first 755 (423) worked to Bury St Edmunds today, Harwich - Bury St E - Harwich

"The 6.02am Cambridge to Norwich, 6.14 Lowestoft to Ipswich, 6.45 Norwich to Lowestoft and 7.33 Lowestoft to Norwich, 7.43 Norwich to Great Yarmouth and 8.18 Great Yarmouth to Norwich have been cancelled due to train faults".

That dropped into my inbox yesterday morning (Monday 7th). Were they the new 755s falling over?

I think there was cancellations due to Sunday's flooding, could it have been related to that? (A 'news' item appeared on FaceAche)

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that. The cancellations were all early on Monday, so could have been a knock-on from Sunday.

One has just passed the box heading for King's Lynn... Return due past here at 2334, sadly our Train describer is dead, so you'll see all sorts of headcodes around Littleport!

That explains the "ghost" codes sitting in the berths until they are swept up by the next move.

I like these photos as you have 21st century emus, 20th century locomotive and possibly 19th century signal box!

755336 became the first 3-car to stop at Eccles Road this morning, I missed the Norwich - Thetford leg but something in my subconscious told me to get my bum in gear and photograph the return - and the 755/3 was the reward for a foggy and cold start to the day.

I'll post some more photos later.

They have obviously got a bit brave as previously when the three car ones went out they failed.

Can't imagine these being very fast power to weight ratio must be less than a 170

On diesel the 3-car 755 is slightly more power (960KW) than a 170 (945KW for a 3-car), and the 4-car 755 quite a lot more (1920KW) than a comparable 4-car 170 formation (1260KW).

Not sure how the loaded weights compare though, might sway the balance a bit.

I have to say that the four car versions are very quick off the mark, so fast that they have a 40mph restriction if they are stopped in the down platform at Littleport, so that they don’t beat the bypass ahbc! That’s quicker than any of the EMU’s we have down our way. (That’s even quicker than Russ in a pair of 37’s and two test cars...)

How many engines do they have in that little ‘pup’ unit in the middle? Are they Cummins diesels or some cheapo units?
