RMweb Gold jcarta Posted August 29, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 29, 2021 (edited) One of Ray's loco's, testing the signalling on the layout ...... as well as making lots of noise Edited August 29, 2021 by jcarta
RMweb Gold jcarta Posted August 29, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 29, 2021 (edited) Yesterday Ray and moi continued to work on the signalling and between our joint efforts we managed to install a further three signals, home signal and two shunts. The home signal will only ever show 2 aspects as the route indicators are dummies and as there are quite a few routes from this signal so we decided to keep it simple. On to the shunts, four of these were very kindly donated to me from a club member and they sit very nicely, Ray has wired these up to become operational. RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 1, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2021 For the last few days I and SWMBO have been making up some plaster of paris cobbled streets for the street scene at the back of the layout and so far she has created about 20 sections, some of these will be used elsewhere on the layout. If only the council would sort our roads out this quick 1
RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 1, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2021 (edited) Some of the road sections were installed over the last two days and been painted but will require a few washes to bring them to life, hopefully. Also last week I ordered up a few laser kits from Fair-Price-Kits from a well known auction site. These kits are very basic and allows you to put the facade on that you want so once again out comes the Slaters brickwork and glue to build these kits up. I have nearly finished the shop and I also have 3 double terrace houses to complete over the next few days / weeks. I have started to put together the local pub and coloured in the brickwork although the picture doesn't really show this all that well but hopefully this will be finished over the weekend. I just need to take a few photos of the bar area when I next pop in my local so I can put these inside as a backscene, might even put some flashing lights in to represent a disco....... RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 6, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 6, 2021 The pub got finished but I do need to get a few more roof tiles, which I have just ordered so hopefully these will arrive this week. I like to keep the customers happy so I thought a few tables would be good and something else LJ can lean on..... So over the past week I started the houses and they are nearing the finish post, again roof tiles are required but as I had a small space at the end of the terrace I thought I'll do something slightly different by installing the wooden structure to protect the houses from subsidence. The pavement will be stuck down and a little bit more vegetation put around the corrugated fencing 5 2
RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2021 I been busy doing the houses during the last week and haven’t bumped into LJ and his siblings, Ned & Jed….. Had a nosey tonight and they are all down the local for a swift couple of jars and he has now started chatting up the opposite sex by the looks of it

RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 15, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 15, 2021 Ray has kindly soldered up the cab for me so I can make a start on the slave unit for the Class 13 and I have added the blanking doors and grab handles. Seeing it is a nice day it has also had a quick blast of undercoat in preparation for it's nice blue coat.

RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) Today, we fitted the long awaited turntable bridge from Mike Greenwood Models and to be honest what a fiasco this has been, 19 weeks from purchase to delivery and three turntables later..... when the turn around (excuse the pun) time is 2 weeks....Anyway it arrived yesterday and fitted today so here it is fitted at last. The 40 only just fits on it so we might need to put a restriction on some of the loco's that need to stable. RMweb Gold jcarta Posted September 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 26, 2021 Anyway on another note we have a few more well known characters wandering around the area but LJ hasn't caught up with them yet as he is still eyeing up the local ladies.
RMweb Gold jcarta Posted January 27, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2022 Haven’t been on here for ages to post anything as it has been quiet on the modelling front …. No doubt that will change shortly as I still have lots to do …. Anyway on my way home today this was parked up at Milton Keynes, not sure why but it was worth a quick picture as she was nice and clean.
