You can lead a Gaffer to a job, but you can't make him work.:D.

Luckily I'm a self employed Gaffer, Gaffers Mate, Gaffers Understudy, Gaffers Labourer, Gaffers Tea maker, Gaffers, Gaffers general dogs body.

AND THAT'S ALL ON A GOOD DAY.:o

A few busy days has past and a few head scratching moments whilst wiring the frame up but I glad to say and a lot of perseverance by Ray the frame has now been commissioned with signals & points all operational. The only job to do with the signals is to add leads to the led's and wire them into the lighting circuit.

It does help if I add some pictures

The lever frame has had all the levers repainted and is now set within a wooden frame and at some stage it will get a coating of lacquer on the wood and lastly the camera is operational so the operator can see what is approaching the garage.

He worked me so hard over the weekend that I've had to take today off!

Mind you I've already had to do one unexpected job for SWMBO and there's warnings of another one later.

Not only that but someone mentioned the subject of signal bounce yesterday so that's on the list for a bit of research today.

Its been a quiet few days so this has been spent on the railway and starting on some scenery pieces, so out with the foamex and started measuring up and building one of the two platforms. I originally intended to have brick facing platforms but after looking at George T's Moss Lane layout I thought I would have a go at building mine in a concrete face. The platforms tops are not secured yet as I need to fit platform lights and other buildings.

These will be weathered in the next few days so they won't look so new......

I tried to hide some of the wiring for the frog juicers that live under the signal box by placing a cable run by the track and once again spent a few hours cutting the tops and then gluing them in situ, again these will get weathered.

Lastly I purchased some laser cut kits and one of these is a concrete walling that will sit in front of some warehouses, they could do with some graffiti and once I've found some and attached them to the walling I will tone them do a bit.

Another productive few days with the foamex board ...... Part of the low relief warehouses has been built and sprayed but will need finishing off in the few days and then I can move on to the next part of the low relief builds.

The old Skytrex oil storage was broken so this has been rebuilt using 10000 plastic, filled and sprayed, this will be finished during the week.

At the station end I didn't want the track to end here but wanted to look as if the line continued so I have been playing around with the foamex again and cutting out a level crossing, not sure how it will turn out but I will persevere with it.

And lastly I picked these up that will eventually sit on the railway

I was going to go to my old muckers home today to have a go on his railway 'Puzzel Yard' but he got volunteered to cut the front hedge :butcher:..... So today I was left to my own devises, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing..... :bb:

The postie brought the graffiti decals today so I set about placing some on the concrete wall and I will tone these down in the coming days also the warehouses have been toned down so they don't all look too new.

I did have a Bachmann fuel station on the previous layout but these fell to pieces when the layout got dismantled so I set about making a new one by using to old pieces.

And the fuel tank also got the first weathering and again it will be finished off a little later.

I made my own up by using  4.8mm U shape plastic from squires and then cutting the lids out of 1mm foamex but you can purchase some ready made ones from intentio at the following address

I've been keeping the postie busy over the last few days and today he didn't disappoint by bringing a few items that were ordered  the other day and arrived today.

These are 3D printed and only require painting and I have to admit I am very impressed with them, so without further ado, these are the buffers for the stabling point.

And these little beauties are for the station area, now I just need a few train spotters to be sitting on them.

Oh I forgot to add, the signal approaching the garage was always getting knocked / battered (mostly by the local felines) so this has been swapped out for a low level signal....
