RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 18, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 18, 2019 My own little tribute to UP’s superb restoration of 4014 saw the first train of the day, a block ethanol train, run from one end to the other

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 18, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 18, 2019 I finished the day meeting up with friends who’d been in the farewell HST’s service to Exeter and bumped into a few of the Freemo contingent too.
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted May 19, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) Great photos as usual Paul. Yes a very good day at Freemo. We ran our late friend Grahams FEC GP 9 a fair way round the set up on a freight followed by Mikes UP mail express with one of my UP Mountains. We finished the day at Exeter St Davids seeing off the last passenger service by HST form Paddington to Plymouth. The end of comfy seats on these services. woodenhead
That steelworks module would work very well as a South Wales one, keep the Switchers and chuck in some 37s

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted May 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 20, 2019 One of the last movements of the weekend was me driving my Tri Rail set non stop (a first??) from 11th Avenue back to Fort Myers so I didnt get any photos myself. Another great Freemo weekend and apart from the usual jams on the A303 up to Stonehenge, a good drive back home. A few more photos form yesterday. FEC 658 had its first run but is still to be weathered.

Glorious NSE
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! This is the plan - the main line runs from Dale Yard at the top, turns and runs down the hall and back, then turns again to reach the Western Union yard at the other end of the run. There were also three branches (to Fort Myers, Fairhope and 11th Avenue), and both of the yards had local industries they served also. Here's a few more pics: Pan Am railways gathering at the Jillsburgh Depot roundhouse. View from the 'stage' end of the hall, showing much of the main line. Firehouse at 11th Ave, hope they aren't about to put the fire in the loco out... At Emmery, a local freight from Western Union Yard to 11th Avenue swings onto the branch, a unit stone train (with an excess of eclectic CN power) is holding in the siding for it to clear.
