Crisis Rail
Basic early images. Just a matter of bringing it all to life. Nothing to offer operationally a simple track and “pointless”. I have always liked to concentrate on the scenic side of things experimenting and adding details. Anyway here’s this weeks rostered Jock Traction. Ian Edited February 20, 2020 by Crisis Rail

RMweb Premium Alex TM Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 24, 2019 Hi, I like the idea of modelling what looks like the rear of the shed; some original thought. Looking forward to see it develop. Regards, Alex.

They are the reasonably priced Ten Commandments Plaster Low Relief ones I have had spare for sometime. I like the Wills and Evergreen Sheeting and over the years I must've done hundreds of yards of the stuff over the plasticard and brick sheet frames. These were convenient for the "rear end" of a McTMD of sorts although the shed doors were very brittle and unforgiving interesting to cut to say the least! Crisis Rail
The knife and fork carnage at the rear of the Ten Commandments plaster "sheds" - a difficult cut - very brittle - I should've known...... I wasn't happy with the plaster brickwork which had to match with the Skytrex office walls and Brick sheet plasticard - i have matched up to suit - much better
RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted August 31, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 31, 2019 Ian you have done a good job matching up the buildings, nice modelling.
rob D2
Looks good. I gave up on those plaster buildings because kept chipping them and showing the plaster through.

Yes they are very delicate but any chips can be easily repaired with Polyfilla* Once fully constructed they are better immediately bonded in less handling definitely the better. *Other brands of filler are available from all usual stockists Ian Edited September 6, 2019 by Crisis Rail
Crisis Rail
Fuelling point. A departure from the Excellent Knightwing kit that I’ve done numerous times. I thought it was due for a change so decided to go for the Skytrex version bought from the York show a while back. Unfortunately the roof was warped and an attempt to straighten snapped along a fracture line. I’ve replaced this with Wills sheeting. Still have the option of the scratchbuilt “Inverness” style refuelling hut to try over this. Ian. Edited September 16, 2019 by Crisis Rail

Thanks - yes the Heljan 47's definitely divide opinion certainly if you've been "hit" with the chassis corrosion problem especially the early batches. 636 will look and sound even better when weathered an soundchipped - it's straight out of the (dusty) box. Crisis Rail
Third option Fuelling Point all primed - I won't be bonding to the layout as it gives me options to change with the Skytrex version as I am undecided which to settle on.
