Julia
Am experimenting with making wire trees. I'm using Gordon Gravett's books as an instruction manual. The product he suggests for making tree bark (and for many other uses), is Artex. I can't find artex here in .NL, so I'm pondering what other options there are for making bark for model trees? What have you found effective? J
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 23, 2019 I use the bark powder product from Treemendus, very realistic and easy to use. https://www.treemendus-scenics.co.uk/tree-kit-order/
RMweb Premium rab Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 23, 2019 Bark options - depends on the dog! I would be running if I wasn't so darn tired.
toplink@()1989))((
Textured masonry paint is good. Or matt emulsion with a bit of sand mixed in. As is often quoted in all modelling genres, study the prototype or photos. Cheer's, Pete.
Campaman
I coat the armature with PVA then sprinkle on sawdust, gives a rough bark texture.
