hayfield
These castings came in a mixed lot of items and I have no idea what they are for. The square ones I have shown both sides In the same lot there were some Parker coach bogie etches, would these be the springs and axle boxes for them ? RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted December 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 6, 2019 The rectangular ones look like buffer housings. The round bits not so sure - perhaps brake cylinders of some kind (Westinghouse? but not a version I've seen before).
Guy Rixon
The round castings look like Stone's dynamos, stripped of the swingy-bits that suspend them from the underframe.

Ah, yes they do look like dynamos. Although with that long a shaft the bearings must have taken a beating.
MikeTrice
It is just a LNER retractable buffer supplied in two parts.

MikeTrice
Good question. I have been trying to remember who produced them but my memory is struggling. I have a vague feeling they were early P4 Studiolith. If that is the case they probably did not have heads as you were expected to drill them out and use their turned steel heads. Mike Thank you These are of no use to me but rather than throw them away as there are 6 sets of four, someone must have a use for them. I will put them on eBay at a 99p start I also have 5 pairs of GCR ? Parker 8' bogie etchings, they have A Gibbs on them, these also are of no use to me, again I will list them at what I feel is a low start price for etchings

hayfield
They are only etchings, but I guess springs and axleboxes can be obtained Both sides of the etch and there are 11 and a part used etch, so basically 5 pairs Happy to listen to offers
