RMweb Premium newbryford Posted January 12, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 12, 2020 (I guess this could be posted in the questions section, but I've put it here for discussion and I couldn't find anything obvious here on RMweb) Just found out about this system https://www.nmra.org/lcc Designed so that layout control can be seperated from train control. Whilst it's interesting reading the FAQs, I can't find out if existing DCC accessories - such as point motors, will be compatible with LCC. ALthough this may give the answer. https://dccwiki.com/Layout_Command_Control Has anyone used LCC yet? Cheers, Mick

All it says is that all DCC systems can work with LCC by using an appropriate interface when the video is watched AIUI, it looks like it is a "stand alone" accessory control system that can be hooked up to a DCC system. Crosland
It's a standalone system (e.g. like loconet or Xpressnet) based on CANbus (but incompatible with Roc's CANbus solution). You will need an interface from LCC to DCC if you want to use existing DCC accessory decoders. There's a long history of the NMRA trying to create a standard for accessory control. This resulted in fragmentation with MERG members creating CBUS and another group OpenLCB. The latter was (more or less) adopted by the NMRA. 1
