55012
I think it was on Brian Daniels three on here where he assembled the body a different way to the Easybuild instructions. Basically the sides and ends are fitted to the roof rather than the under frame . This allows the use of filler to close the small remaining gap. It’s a bit fiddly then to marry up the bolt through the floor into the roof fixing but careful measuring makes it easier. I did it with mine and I was happy with the result
D6775
In and out of lockdowns really hasn't help this project but hopefully in the coming weeks things may get better and Cam and I can crack on. In the meantime Phil at Intentio drew up some concrete garages for me which arrived last week so I set about building and painting them and plotting out the back gardens which will fill the gap between the cobbles and the front of the layout. Hopefully this little project will help give me some much needed motivation! There is a bit of a write up on these coming on the MIOG website at some point to. Ideal little buildings to fill a space in the back yards. 8

RMweb Gold jcarta Posted March 3, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2021 How good would it be to open a garage door and find a tip top MK1 escort sitting there.......... The garages look great Al 2

I certainly wouldn't say no to a MK1 Escort but a 1967 Mustang Fastback would be preferable, I wonder what's in the closed garage.......... 2

D6775
Some further progress on the gardens. first three walls done. I need to get another two sheets of brick off Phil for the rest, work out what I'm doing to top them off and make some garden gates. 4

Plenty to do!
D6775
Well its been a while and we have built and now exhibited another layout in the meantime (Dovedale hit the road in March!). So back on 'High St', although it may get re-named. Cam stripped the boards as what we build weren't really sturdy enough and they have now been re-built in a slightly different format. All buildings and trackwork were recovered and now we'll get cracking again. Here is a taste of things to come.
