Popular Post SouthernBlue80s
Had a plank and a bit of spare track and wanted a diaroma to photograph all my weathered stock on. So a few days later here it is. The green moss stuff looks good on the plank but needs toning down for the pictures. What I am happy with is that I have managed to get a sense of depth with a small plank. So to start with. Resprayed class 73122 plus a couple of kit built HTVs. Might do a pic a day. Class 33s next perhaps. 22

LBRJ
That is remarkably atmospheric, helped by the excellent back scene. Is that one you did yourself, or one of the many fine commercial ones you can get now??

What is different is that the diaroma is OO but the back scene is N gauge. So you don't know untill you try but proof the two work together. 5
LBRJ
Yes I can see how that idea would work - and it certainly does in this instance! Any idea which sheet it was...it reminds me of a flatter, softer version of some of the countryside here in the eastern foothills of the peninnes
marc smith
Absolutely stunning @SouthernBlue80s. Really nice modelling. You've really created a superb atmosphere in this little plank / diorama Re the backscene - yes, I found that they can often be used for different scales to those they've been made for On my O Gauge "Poynton Sneer" micro layout - the backscene was a commercial one, made for 4mm scale... I think it works well here, keeping the horizon quite low. You've blended it with the foreground really well. Cracking job mate 1
Clagsniffer
Love this layout/diorama. Your weathering and track detailing are superb. As others have also said, the backscene works a treat giving a real sense of perspective. SouthernBlue80s
Thanks for all the positive comments guys, much appreciated. I find you never know if it is going to work untill it comes together or not at the last minute. LBJR you are in luck, I still have the back scene packaging. It is a - iD backscenes series 204 'distant town' n guage. I bought it from a model shop, can not remember which one. There is a web address on it that might help www.art-printers.com I have glued mine on to two movable boards, which I have found useful.
