Thanks for the link, I will have a search on the web to see if I can find it, and let me know if and when you want one! Cheers Jerry

Just found it on this video rather conveniently, not the best shots but does show it.

Looking at the video it would seem that the LM 150 has been done via some sort of vinyl, as you can see it a bit crinkled up at the front on one of the clips! A very nice looking livery for the units too be fair but the repainted version by Jerry will look alot better!

Squirrel Rail
Bit of a long update but fairly colourful.... Virgin class 90 has had the grey added, first virgin 90 I’ve done and still think this is one of the best schemes another great scheme is the RFD European and the slate grey is now on this one whilst the black windows have gone on this RFD version to become a 90/2 last of the grey was the roof and lower bands on the Fertis pair As a change from grey GBRF blue on another N gauge 60 Now the colourful three - yesterday was yellow panels on the RSH trio Today I masked and sprayed the wasp stripes on one of them, came out great but, and a big but is I’ve cocked it up as I have one extra stripe I worked the spacing out from the left hand side using the buffers, windows and coupling as reference then just followed across - never thought to count the stripes - lesson learned- until I do it again! So these lovely stripes will all be going...aaarrrgh... fronts ok though!

Sometimes I get asked for things I don’t fancy as I know it won’t look good or due to the time it will take makes my hourly rate next to nothing!

I'd love to have a First Scotrail one, a little out of region for me but I have a nice Scotrail fleet building too! Well, if yiou are modelling WCML, GEML or ECML, you could make a case for a Scotrail 90, yes, they were liveried for the Cally Sleeper, but they later found work on Malcolm freight, Hire-ins to GEML and also diverted services occasionally went onto the ECML. Hi Rob, it’s funny - I used to help my brother out in his building company and people would pay £20 an hour for me to stick emulsion on a wall, come to the trains and someone’s wants a complicated respray lots of masking, lots of prep and the hourly rate works out less than the minimum wage!! You can see why people stick to weathering....

Hi, I always use the Tamiya range of masking tapes, cost a bit more but produce a really nice edge- hope that helps! 1 4

I second that. I recommend it too. I have used different brands but find some either tear off some of the hardened paint (I won't mask for at least a week) or they leave a slightly jagged edge...or both. Tamiya's masking tape seems to stay stuck where you want it, while remaining easy to peel away. It also leaves a nice crisp edge. It helps that it comes in a nice plastic dispenser which stops any dust or dirt getting stuck to the edge. I see Barclay is in Essex. They sell Tamiya tape at a certain model shop in Chelmsford..
letterspider
You can also buy Tamiya tape in a variety of widths, so it is possible to use it where you want a line with the same colour on each side

Squirrel Rail
Had a few days of domestic duties with the oldies so have been doing a few bits and pieces but hadn’t had time to post an update so here’s a few pics: First up green door on the Freightliner 90 Then a very long masking session for two of the Agecroft tanks before the black and then with the masks off - bit of a bleed on the red one but easily sorted 90227 is coming along nicely, the replacement buffers and all the etch is now on, The EWS to DB 66113 has been reassembled waiting for decals which are with postman Pat so hopefully here Monday last up here’s a quick view of some of the others so hopefully some better updates over the next couple of days!
Benjamin Brady
Hi, As always you've quite an arsenal of products. I've been doing a 90227 and have been wondering on the best approach for the buffers. Like you in the past I've used the Hornby class 67 detailing packs but they are thin on the ground now. Your casting looks a worth replacement, If possible where did you get these from? I like the green door on 90047, before the Bachmann 90 I tarted up an old Hornby model in this guise. Cheers Benjamin

Cheers Benjamin Hi Benjamin, hope you’re well, the buffers are from Shawplan, exactly the same length and size as the Bachmann freightliner 90. They need the faces cleaning up from the casting but are nicely detailed on the back and look the part when painted. Cheers Jerry
Benjamin Brady
Hi, Thanks for getting back, typical after ordering the nameplates the other week. I shall drop him another e-mail this afternoon. Thank you. It's all good up here in Cheshire, however I am still admiring the work you manage to turn out and it's spurring me on to try and finish a few of my own project. I suppose with no shows to attend there is no real rush. The next project shall be to finish the tfw Class 175 from the 3d printed body shells, from your helpful pointer on the decals. I'll update the Weaver Hill, or home layout thread sooner or later. Cheers Benjamin
