eastwestdivide
On a fog-bound day, and with holiday plans curtailed this year, I thought a compilation of holiday snaps might be in order. To give it a theme, they've all got a bridge in the photo, and to make it more interesting, no captions yet. So, name that bridge: 1 point for the location and half a point for just the country. No prizes, but captions will be added in a day or so... 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: 6:

Allegheny1600
Number 8 is either Eiffel magnificent structure in France or the rather similar bridge at Mungsten, over the Wupper, in Germany.

EddieB
Weak no trumps? No. 1 is Kalte Rinne on the Semmering, Austria - it’s been here before!
eastwestdivide
The answers (look away now if you haven't played yet) 1 Kalte Rinne viaduct near Semmering, Austria 2 Despite looking a bit Paris Metro in style, this is Horta metro station in Brussels, Belgium 3 Luxembourg city, an international train to Liège. These are apparently no longer formed of a Luxembourg loco with 4 Belgian coaches, but EMUs now 4 Moresnet viaduct, Belgium, but very near the 3-country border of Belgium/Netherlands/Germany. You can hear 4 languages in a 10-km circle round there 5 Den Haag/The Hague, NL, where the local tram/metro system runs across the mainline terminus platforms 6 Hornberg in the Black Forest, Germany 7 Lovers' locks on the Rhine bridge, Köln/Cologne, Germany 8 Müngsten viaduct near Wuppertal, Germany, highest rail bridge in Germany 9 Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains, Germany 10 Brusio spiral viaduct, in an Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, with the Bernina Express 11 Hospental near Andermatt, Switzerland, with the Glacier Express 12 Schöllenen Gorge, Devil's Bridge, near Andermatt, Switzerland - downhill to Göschenen and the classic north-south Gotthard route, uphill to Andermatt for the east-west MGB 3
