Tony Crowther
Seen now that Bachmann has produced a oo gauge British Rail class 58 railfreight livery, could they produce a class 56 diesel locomotive in BR blue? I feel this could be far more superior than the Hornby model.
Redkiterail
One the model is Heljan being supplied to the Bachmann EFE Rail Brand to increase the available market for the model. Bachmann are not producing they are putting a box on it
woodenhead
The class 58 is through EFE and is a rebadged Heljan model, built by Heljan to be distributed through EFE. A class 56 is probably not on the cards in the short term unless someone else fancies taking on Hornby with a very high quality model. Any challenge to the Hornby model will be met in the same manner other duplicates have been met by Hornby, agressively.

Every photo here shows them flush with the top of the roof with a slightly raised surround. http://www.docbrown.info/docspics/ArchiveSteam/lococlass56.htm Andi
