KeithMacdonald
Quote Jasper is the perfect English Civil Servant - polite and refined. But to his girl friend, and even to himself, he is a bore. So he decides to become a painter in Paris. Not so fast. The powers-that-be send him to the country to dismantle a forgotten research unit which is headquartered in an old mansion. The eccentric owner lives in a railway train, on his own 'branch line', letting the government pay for the upkeep of his ancestral home. The small research unit enjoys running the stately home and everyone is content with the status quo. Enter Jasper who quickly meets Lord Flamborough's three daughters, who, in one way or another contrive to make Jasper feel very much at home. Jasper's life is turned upside down, and he must eventually decide where his own personal future will lie. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106058/ Quote Much of the outdoor scenes were filmed at Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk. Some internal scenes were filmed at Chawton House in Hampshire, while the railway scenes were filmed on the North Norfolk Railway, in particular using Weybourne station as a substitute for the fictional Arcady station. Arcady village and pub were filmed at Heydon in Norfolk. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_on_a_Branch_Line_(TV_series)

Steamport Southport
ISTR watching it back in the day and was bored witless. It was only occasional views of the Jinty that was interesting. Also the Brighton Belle Pullman cars. DVD is cheap as chips. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Branch-Line-Michael-Maloney/dp/B071SLHH8X Jason

Steamport Southport
Ah. Tastes change. I would possibly like it now. But I was a youngish lad who was more into something like Bottom. I watched it because it mentioned trains and had Leslie Phillips in it and was expecting something like Carry On Branch Line.... That was before they made Oh Doctor Beeching! Yes, I remember that one, but unfortunately couldn't really get into it (although, having said that, I probably watched all the episodes and did identify some of the character traits from reali-life work characters!).
