RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted January 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 23, 2019 Mike, did you get any further with yours? Your photos are very helpful (by the way). I've got a short rake of two to one the workbench for Oldshaw. Have started on the Stenson Models bogies. Guy Other than finally badgering Colin into doing rigid bogies, no. The reason being that, having discovered a man who can, (that is, design, draw and produce etches and 3D prints), once the bogie cement wagon is done the palvans are the next taxi off the rank, hopefully sometime this year. lyneux
So, moving things along a bit, I am about to paint and turning my attention to transfers. Does anyone know why 7301 carries the RBS logo on it? https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/ukfvan/h53721C7A#hedd9840 It seems unique to this vehicle. Talltim
The HMRS has a photo of LS7002 that has the RBS logo (from the desciption, the image is not available online) https://hmrs.org.uk/photographs/multi-side-doored-bogie-van-nols7002-48t-for-fertiliser-traffic-royal-bank-of-scotland-logo-on-wagon-owners-livery-dark-chocolate-lower-section-and-ukf-lettering-white-upper-fertilisers-in-green-rbos-logo-in-blue.html
Mark Saunders
Probably that they were the finance house behind the lease rather like Lloyds and Scottish !
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted June 11, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2019 Hi Guy, RBS plus Lloyds &Scottish acted as funding providers for the lease of these wagons. I had opportunity whilst working with Lloyds group to do some archive enquiries but came up with very little. How little? Just a 3 page leasing contract with director details plus the pre-funding checks. This was done in a very timely manner - less than 28 days from initial enquiry to funds being paid out to the wagon company. Thanks Phil H
simon br blue
Hi, Just a quick question about the UKF wagon - what colour brown was the lower bodyside?
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted April 29, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) Hi Simon, I was told it was Brown Lake, but the nearest match I came up with was GWR brown. jessy1692
Hi all, got a couple of these on the way to fettle up. @jonhall might be a bit of a long shot but have you any etches still? Also, are the bogie sideframes still current with SKits? (Stenson rigid ones out of stock) Im away from my usual bench so cant check the price list. My Dad has emailed George with an order for some bits so could tag these on. Cheers James

James, I still have some of both my trusses (£2.50) and Lee's bogie frames (Truss+bogie £6) I don't supply Lee's bogie frames on their own. PM for payment and postage info. I'll probably keep small stocks of my truss etch, but once my stock of Lee's bogies are gone, that's probably the last of them. Jon 1

jonhall
Yes, sorry I'm a bit all over the place at the moment, I'm in the process of moving sites at work (to a new lab building that isn't really ready), living at home, and in a rented flat, and trying to buy my first house, all with Covid's complexity on top - I'm a bit knackered by the time I get home - I'll reply this evening once I've looked postage up.. Thanks for your patience. Jon

Just acquired a couple more so im going to have a bash at representing a couple of curtain sided original ones, Jon, do you still have any trusses in stock? jessy1692
Oh and heres some pics from my Dad that he took back in 1984 just before the demolition gang moved in to Harrogate goods yard and shed. UKF had a depot there so we think the long train was to empty it out. Note the blue liveried one in the consist, is it an early Kimera one does any one know? lyneux
1984 is definitely too early for Kemira and the livery is too light and is missing the big white stripe down the side. It looks more like the Shellstar blue to me. Here's a couple of pics of similar liveried wagons from Flickr. If you search for photos from 1980-82 you will find a few others similar: Edited October 21, 2020 by lyneux 7 1 1
