Hi.

I found this one in my collection:

post-7571-0-17021300-1514381193_thumb.jpg

It was taken a couple of years ago, after a light snowfall followed by a heavy frost.  It shows the branch from Kirkham to Blackpool South taken from the road bridge at the long-closed Wrea Green station, looking towards Kirkham.

Two images in the Mearns countryside, just north of Laurencekirk, today:

66014 works North to Aberdeen Waterloo, from Mossend, via Millerhill, presumably to pick up the empty Clay Slurry Silver Bullets, whilst an Unidentified 158 heads south on an Inverurie to Edinburgh working.

Now in its final year of service, unless it gets another last minute reprieve, Eggborough Power Station happily generating away this morning as 43238 'National Railway Museum 40 Years 1975-2015' speeds by with 1N81, 09.08 London Kings Cross to York.

I dare say there might have been a few disappointed punters on todays 'The North Briton' railtour.

According to another forum, 60163 'Tornado' suffered a TPWS fault necessitating the addition of a pilot loco in the form of DB Cargo 66014.

Seen along the Aire Valley between Cononley and Skipton, on the outward part of the rail tour, 1Z90 07.14 Cambridge to Carlisle.

When looking around for a new hobby in the mid 1970's, I bought a modern SLR. It wasn't long before I was trackside! I would select an attractive setting and wait for a train to come along.....any train! Diesels were merely camera fodder. The fact that I could get them published was a bonus and I would often work at nights to free up the days for photography.  The Class 150 below is typical of my work and shows a Blaenau Ffestiniog-Llandudno train sweeping down the Lledr Valley towards its next stop at Dolwydellan...

A slice of Medway, 2015:

post-6971-0-71035200-1524768813.jpg

I'm standing in Frindsbury churchyard above Strood, looking across the Medway to the new Rochester station, the signalbox (since demolished) and beyond. I think a multi-storey carpark has gone in now just this side of the station.
