Hi,

Hoping to pop in on the Saturday for a couple of years before travelling back home for the weekend.

Looks like a good show, first time going, so it'll be interesting!

Simon

You obviously look at the exhibits very carefully!

I'm hoping to be there myself.

It was always a good show when I used to take my book stand, standard of layouts was normally very good, and takings were always better than average :sungum: . If I lived closer, I would go,especially with the 'Gang Of Four' being there with 'Flintcombe'.

Van, booked.

Wheels being cleaned, Back To Backs being checked, couplings being adjusted and mechanisms being oiled.

I shall be there with the Swaynton Team.

By the way we were last at this venue in 2003 when Swaynton was a "layout under construction"

Come and say hello and admire our working disc signals.

My third visit to this excellent show and very good it was too. Very well attended as well, perhaps too much so for comfort. Good to see that the school have repaired the false ceiling and the lighting, last year these looked a bit dodgey. Never mind, on with the photos ...

Thank you to all the members of the SHMRC for a great weekend.

We really enjoyed the show and the superb hospitality.

Many thanks Alan Mags and all the Warren Lane crew

I would like to second that message. Despite loosing my fellow operator at the last moment to 'flu, I had an excellent day with Khan. Lots of interesting people to talk to, excellent catering and very friendly club. It certainly seemed busy all day, so I hope SHMRC funds were properly rewarded. Finally, thanks also to the Warren Lane crew for their help to a solo exhibitor.

Hi,

Well, I've got to say it was a very nice show, the way from the station at Hilsea was excellently sign posted, I could even see one from the window of the train door!

It was very well attended from what I saw, unfortunatly, maybe a little to crowded, the corridor between Highbury and Warren lane was a particular bottleneck I'm afraid, but other than that, I thought there were some very good layouts there, Being of a modern persuasion, I loved Warren lane, although I did like Hope-under-Dinmore (simply because dad's into LNWR, so i spend alot of time around those types of models), but every layout was of a high quality I thought.

Met Chris F whilst I was there, and we managed a nice chat over a cup of tea and a cookie. I've got to say that the catering was very good and well priced.

Overall, a nice exhibition, even f I did have to run the mile back to the station to catch my train! :swoon:

Thanks for all the kind comments.  Sorry it was a bit crowded at times - we never expected to get over 200 extra visitors - next year we will try to give bigger gangways.

We enjoyed organising and holding the Show.  Now we have to match it next year.

Ray,

It is great to hear this, when some clubs have been suffering falls in numbers. Any ideas as to why this is the case? Did you do anything differently?
