Sir Hadyn
I've sent a PM regarding a file transfer. For anyone interested. In the last 2 days some murals have been affixed around town one of which is 'Shannon' aka 'Jane' but in her original guise without a cab. Used for just a couple of years on the Sandy & Potton Tramway, this was a private line built solely on Captain William Peels (VC) land so no act of parliament was required. She was officially named 'Shannon' by Captain Peels mother after the ship he commanded. IMG_1864.JPG That's really nice to see. there's also the Shannon Express barber shop quartet singers I recall. When we did a bit more research, it's possible she was delivered in blue, which was George England's works colour
RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted January 21, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 21, 2018 Out of interest has anyone tried building this in 4mm ? I'm playing with an idea but trying to find a motor/box to fit inside is proving......difficult... She really is small!
bécasse
I'm playing with an idea but trying to find a motor/box to fit inside is proving......difficult... She really is small! Have a look at some of Nigel Lawton's products, not the kits but the motors and drive components. http://www.nigellawton009.com/VeeTipper.html
RMweb Premium uax6 Posted January 21, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 21, 2018 (edited) How about some Nigel Lawton micro motors Dave? http://www.nigellawton009.com/6VMicroMotors.html Andy G Edit: beaten too it.. RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted January 21, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 21, 2018 Thanks, The ideal one is out of stock but I reckon I could get another to fit. I like the idea of hanging it off the axle with belt drive. I'll draw it up and see how it fits.
RMweb Premium uax6 Posted January 21, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 21, 2018 (edited) Wouldn't the motor be visible then? Surely better having the motor above the axle? Andy G Edited January 21, 2018 by uax6
RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted January 21, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 21, 2018 If there was a bit more room it could possibly have gone over the axle rather than slung under. In this case though it would either be in the well tank or up in the firebox. To give an idea on how little room there is, A Mashima 1020 would be out the top of the fire box! I'm figuring on finding a motor then making up a motor mount to fit.
