lmsforever
Thanks for downloading this film shows how short sighted people are BR lied so much about this line thank goodness it did not close and that enough people cared about their local area to form the friends.I always liked this guy he had a quirky way of presenting and always produced interesting programes that had a different slant on life Carslile looked very down at heel much improved nowadays thanks for sharing. I'm going to link to it from the Waverley Route group, there's so much stuff at Longtown and Hawick it's not to be missed.
John_Miles
Ian Nairn, never sober and never boring.
'CHARD
He didn't have a good word for Carlisle, did he! Great footage of Cumberland buses as he stood there bemoaning the place though!
balders
He looks genuinely, properly cheesed off, sitting at Riccarton, fag in hand. Almost unscripted. Compared with the rest of TV in the 70's Mr. Nairn seems to give a very stripped down, pointed and honest presentation of his own opinions. Very interesting, thanks for posting! Bon Accord
Guy He was probably irritated at the lack of a decent nearby boozer! In all seriousness he was another refreshingly honest, factually correct and yet very human presenter, the likes of which we simply don't see today. He certainly set the architectural world alight with his rather forthright opinions on the modern architecture (as was) of the 50s and 60s.
