cunningduck
Great photos! It's impressive how you've captured the length of each trainset.
Fat Controller
They're also useful in illustrating the potential problems of head-span catenary; they show how insubstantial the arrangement is.
Trains4U
Saying that, the catenery has survived 27 years, even if it does go up and down like a...(Insert appropriate euphemism here) Nice pics - a rake of 13 is pretty respectable for Tornado - I wonder if the limitation is down to platform length, rather than power. I wonder how many more Mk1s it could pull if popularity required it.
RMweb Premium 31A Posted July 9, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 9, 2015 A right mixed bag of HSTs - an interesting time of liveries in transition! It looks as though Virgin are repainting the sets more quickly than their predecessors did; I've noticed quite a lot in the new livery already (apart from the red 'flash' on locos / DVTs). HitchinLoco
Few others from the day.. plus two shots of 66106 at Langworth Lincs. The sharp eyes of some may notice a problem on the 66 but it is where I took something out of the pic! See if you spot it?

Vin
Hi all, 66106 is either inside a possession as it's on the wrong line, or its at the back end of a top and tailed train. As it has a tail lamp in the cab window. As for the crane in the background? Regards Vin
edcayton
They are absolutely of interest and thanks for posting. The Grand Central Adelante is my favourite train on this line at the moment (things like Tornado excepted of course). Ed
HitchinLoco
Yes the 66 was working on the derailment at Langworth the crane attached was waiting to travel South to Lincoln to cross over to join the 66 but it was to busy so had to go north to cross I believe. That was not the slight fault with the pick so I will put the original one here see if you then notice. Good fun!

RMweb Premium Kris Posted July 10, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 10, 2015 Good bit of irony in your post title given that the newest loco in the pictures in the one powered by old fashioned steam.
Classsix T
Is 91114 unique in having its pantograph the other way around compared to the others? C6T.
rs4
114 has two pantos. You can just see it in the photo... If you squint. Not sure they extended the experiment to any others ?

Vin
Hi all, Speaking of the modern traction on the ECML (there are quite a few steam photos), did anyone get a photo of the class 26 in BR blue parked outside Doncaster works on Friday? Great photos, Vin

HitchinLoco
Caught these while awaiting the Deltic special and Tornado but getting dark for my camera missed the steamer as it was running about 1 1/4 hrs late, due to water stop I believe. First time see the 68 class. Hope of interest.
