Same price at Hatton's as for a Lenz Standard+ (around £18) and I'd go for the Lenz every time. Or you could buy the Lenz from one of the German box-shifters for around £12-13, given today's weak exchange rate for the euro.

No sense in buying "Budget" decoders here in the UK when, as RFS says, Continental European prices make good quality decoders much cheaper.

e.g.

Lenz Standard+ = £12 - £13

Lenz Silver+ = £17 - £19 (various versions)

ESU LokPilot V4  = £18 - £19

However, the Bachmann 36-566 appears to be a rebadged ESU LokPilot Standard, so it's from a good make, but UK prices for this decoder are slightly higher than buying the equivalent ESU version from a Euro Zone supplier.

http://www.arstecnica.de/shop/index.php - post free if over 50 Euros. So 3 Lenz Standard+ decoders will cost you €16.99 each and €50.97 translates today to around £37, so you're paying around £12.50 per decoder.

http://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/ is another I've used but you need to spend €100 to get free postage although that gets you tracked UPS delivery as opposed to normal mail.

Both allow payment by PayPal for added protection.
