RMweb Gold JCL Posted July 18, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 18, 2015 I was wandering around the internet last night when I found this video of a day in the life of Liverpool in 1929. Although it's not railway-centric, there are clips in there of and on the overhead railway, and some more close to the beginning. There's also some tram footage in there. Anyway, hopefully it'll be interesting to someone. http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-day-in-liverpool-1929/
LMS2968
Thank you for that link. I can remember so much of the city shown here, although from rather later. Unfortunately not the Overhead Railway, though: I wasn't quite old enough when it was sadly demolished.
Forester
A prosperous, confident and proud Liverpool. Notice how clean, neat and tidy everything is, unlike the way modern TV and movies love to portray scenes of the 1920s and 30s. Geat find, especially the docks.
