50th Anniversary of end of steam at Penrhyn quarry

To commemerate the 50th anniversary of the end of rail operations at Penrhyn quarry this years Threlkeld Maining museum gala , took on a Penrhyn theme with Lilla and Hugh Napier visiting from the Ffestiniog Railway , Sybil Mary and Marchlyn from Statfold and Stanhope from Apedale . Also from Apedale was Hudswell Clarke 1238 which is very similar to Bronllwyd

 

I ran a photo event preceding the gala and featuring all the visiting engines

The Erie steam excavator is a real standout & amazing to see in operation. Threlkeld is clearly a must visit for a future event.
