richard i
I have picked up some slaters 4mm wagons on e bay. I have built them but have now got on to build them, it is transfer time. They seem to be press fix and I have tried to follow the instructions, but they crack, don't stick or partly do. What am I doing wrong? They certainly do not work like the dragon press fix transfers which I have used. Any advice gratefully received.
jwealleans
Slaters transfers are Methfix. They're also (personal opinion) a royal PITA to use and I generally substitute HMRS. They can be made to work but it's not as easy as others.

So how do I get methfix to work, is it the same as press fix but meths not water after the rub down or is it like water transfers and soak them but in meths? jwealleans
I'd have to check the little piece of paper you get with them, but as far as I remember you position them, soak them in a 50/50 meths solution, leave them 15 minutes or so the use water only to remove the backing paper. Unless anyone with the destructions to hand can say better.
RMweb Premium Nile Posted August 5, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 5, 2015 Some come with the instructions printed on the back of the sheet. This is what you are missing:
