Good evening, everyone. This evening, thanks to John Phillips, on Flickr, we have two photo’s of a railtour over the Derwent Valley Light Railway, on the 7th April, 1956. It was one Gresley Tourist Brake third carriage, with 65714 the motive power.

 

The first photo’ is taken, of the one coach tour train, near to Cliffe Common. 
 

 

The next photo’ is at Elvington station.

1538 was an LNER D22 class built by the NER (their Class F) in 1890. According to the Green Bible, it was scrapped in June 1933, so the photo above was probably a bit earlier than stated. It was withdrawn from Scarborough Shed.
