Evening All,

Back in 1966, I went on a tour of Hungary and Yugoslavia arranged by the Locomotive Club of Great Britain. All the slides that I took during the trip have now been scanned and the first few are now on my Fotopic site. The latest batch are in the 'Stop Press!' collection for new pictures and this is the link for anyone interested to see them :

To give you a taster, here's a sample :

Clicking on the picture will enlarge it and take you to the website.

In due course, I shall transfer them to the Hungarian Railways collection and they will then be here :

Hope that they are of interest - there are plenty more still to come!

Most enjoyable little set of pics. Wish I had had the opportunity to travel abroad in those days. Strangely I had no interest in 'foreign' locomotives in my youth (50's/60's) resulting in missing so much, even just across the channel! Made up for it a bit as you can see from my member pic

Sincerely, 36E

Lovely pictures: Hungarian Standard Gauge steam locomotives were quite something. Do we have any pictures of the narrow gauge line at Kapuvár to look forward to?

Thanks in anticipation,

Jonathan

More standard gauge Hungarian pix still to come, plus Yugoslavian standard and narrow gauge. Watch this space...

I used to think that that railways ended at Dover. Then, one day, a friend showed me some pictures of French Pacifics and my interest was aroused. So we had a quick trip across the Channel...and I was hooked! The rest, as they say, is history.

If you haven't seen the pictures from that first expedition to France, they're here :
