David Todd
Maybe, Maybe, Maybe. This machine,I noticed when passing the site in the bus. It is parked in the office car park, east end of the site. It may have been brought in,because of concerns with the wall, or had been on the work timescale. Or it could have been the one, that was originally on site, but sent away ? Hats off to Network Rail there then. An Assembly area would, of course, be a natural part of the start of the day's instruction ... so ......... hands together everyone ... and say after me - "Hour Futher, who art at Dover, hollowed be the Front, thy Drillers come, Piling will be done, as it was in Devon, Give us this day our daily glimpse, and forgive us all our photographs, as we forgive those who photograph us. And lead us not into modelling, but deliver us from copying, for their's are the cranes, the diesel and hauling, at least 'til December, ..... perhaps not even then? David Todd
Having landed the main beam on the top hat and it's concrete supporting plie, the crane held the load, while the end supporting trestles were placed. The crane was released, for the next stage's to begin, before unloading the next piece from the wagon. David Todd
Presumably strain/strength testing the concrete piles (and explaining why the one in the middle was left higher than the other four?). Nope, it will become clear (as mud), when I complete the uploading of photos'. It is the first, support system, for a raft. The support trestles will be removed, once the crane has the weight of the whole assembly, the center top hat, removed, then whole item lowered to level. brigo
The lettering on the yellow bits PMC stand for Precision Monitoring & Control Ltd who appear to be experts in pile load testing. The load will be applied to the centre pile, normally via a hydraulic cylinder (the green thing ?) with the reaction forces taken by the frame which is anchored by the other four piles. As the pile is loaded the movement will be measured and data logged over a period of time. Brian Edited April 15, 2016 by brigo
