David Todd
Sadly, this all the photos, I have left, today, taken with the GE compact camera, the backup. Ignore the date stamp. this was the work site at 1030 today. The drill rig,is further down the track bed, drilling out for a center pile. At this end, they have dropped in re enforcing cages. each hand wired together,as each section goes down, via the blue crane. by David Todd 2012, on Flickr Now I know what this kit is. by David Todd 2012, on Flickr by David Todd 2012, on Flickr They are extension lengths for pouring concrete, note the chute head,at the top. You can see, the first extension, is clamped in place, ready to accept more, the cage is already in the cylinder. by David Todd 2012, on Flickr by David Todd 2012, on Flickr Bottom left, Cylinder, ready to accept, more extension chutes, bottom right, this was the first pile, concrete in, cylinders removed, securing plate with nuts and bolts fitted, Note, has been covered with a protection hat. by David Todd 2012, on Flickr That's it for today, we had to leave, One day,on my own, I will capture, the whole process. David Todd
The trip to the other side of the world,(Folkestone)with the grandson today, was cancelled . We tripped up the cliff, I took 150 photo, made a 3 part video,of a new drilling on a new position, along with all of the procedure s. Returned home,to download from the camera. The laptop told me,no data found, the camera, told me data card error !,! These memory cards, are they made to be reused ? I deleted data 3 times off the card, now find I can't reuse it. Had to buy a new 32 GB one today. The rig is piling in a completely new position, further down the track bed, Could only get this with the iPad before leaving, hopefully, you may see the position. The first pile has been capped, the second pile, I made a movie of the reinforcement cage going in,they were about to start concreting . Alas, all wiped of the card. Couple of other photos on a standby camera. Upload later. image.jpeg The last post on the previous page, brought forward. So it is empty, for the next session. I do this, because, when I upload the new set of photos,to the camera programme, I don't have to sit and untick, all of the boxes of yesterday s, images, that remain on the card. Hope that makes sense. Maybe I should buy rolls of film ? Edited April 8, 2016 by David Todd

RMweb Gold unravelled Posted April 8, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 8, 2016 There are some good pc apps around for retreiving lost data from cards gone bad. It can be worth trying a couple of the free ones to see if you can get anything back. No current recommendations as I haven't had to do this for some time. But I wonder if the camera just sends data and just "trusts " the card to record it with no feedback. If so it may be that noting got to the card, whatever the camera sent As to cause, didn't your kit get a soaking recently? I guess you'd need a special tool to get at and clean the card slot contacts. Good luck with sorting te problem Dave
RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted April 8, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 8, 2016 I've had a couple of Olympus digital cameras which share a lot with Fuji and the first one had a problem with the card reader that stopped working. I sent it off for repair and ended up being given a new camera in exchange for the cost of the fixed price repair fee. This included, exchanges for my lenses as well as they had gone from 4/3rds to micro 4/3rds and mirrorless. I have been very impressed with the service and the new camera. It might well be worth contacting their service department for advice. Jamie

RMweb Gold unravelled Posted April 8, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 8, 2016 It is worth reformatting memory cards after deletion of pictures, not necessary every time though. Stewart I may be well out of date, but in the early days of memory cards it was suggested that there was a limit to the number of rewrites that could be made. Card use was supposed to be governed by some complex algorithms which evened out the use of memory, and could identify and avoid dodgy memory cells. I'm not sure how this helps, but my feeling has always been not to reformat unnecessarily. Perhaps a reformat when changing to a new camera would be sensible, to match storage to the new hardware. David Todd
This I believe to be the one, they started yesterday, when I lost all data on my camera. 24 hours on and today, you can see,it is down to depth and all sections fitted, the lower sections of caging must have been fitted before our arrival at 1115. They are in the process of fitting and dropping in the final cage (s).
