RMweb Gold JCL Posted January 7, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 7, 2016 Hi there Is it me, or are loads of photos being randomly swapped around in the forum? Also, a particular gentleman's portrait is being displayed below poster's avatars. I'm using an iPad and Safari at the moment. Cheers Jason
RMweb Gold chris p bacon Posted January 7, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 7, 2016 Not for me Jason. I'm on a coke burning PC with Vista 64 (brought at an antiques fair) and Chrome
Andy Y
I've seen similar reports of random content appearing below posts with ipads. I think the person who had the problem got rid of it by clearing temporary internet files and cookies in the browser.
RMweb Gold JCL Posted January 7, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 7, 2016 Hi Andy, cleared history and data, and it's worse I'm afraid. Strangely, it only happened this morning, yesterday was ok, and I've done nothing in between. Unfortunately I can't send you screenshots as they're too big (>1MB)
RMweb Gold JCL Posted January 7, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 7, 2016 Just thought of a way of doing it.
Andy Y
Strewth; that's a mess! Unfortunately I can't do anything about it from this end, certainly nothing's changed in the software at this end in the last 7 days.
RMweb Gold JCL Posted January 7, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 7, 2016 Very bizarre. Well I'm in England for the next couple of weeks, so I'll use a different browser while I'm here, then reset the iPad when I get back. I'll do a follow up when that happens in case this happens to anyone else. Happy New Year Andy. Cheers
RMweb Gold JCL Posted January 7, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 7, 2016 Hi Andy Solved. The issue was definitely your diagnosis. It seems that to clear the cache, I had to choose clear history and website data from the iPad's Safari settings *and* advanced -> website data -> remove website data. This second action seemed to do the trick. Very peculiar. I don't think iPhones and iPads will catch on you know. Cheers Jason
