RMweb Gold Graham T Posted April 15, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 15, 2021 I like the detailing on that coach! Could you tell me a little more about it please?
RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted April 16, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 16, 2021 The coach is a Hornby Hawksworth composite, and very nice it is too! The handles and signs to the glazing are all standard, so it only needs weathering, some Modelu passengers and lamps. I might have to buy another...

RMweb Gold Popular Post Chris Chewter Posted April 21, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) And off to Kemble they head, with the driver keeping a lookout on the right hand curve, or is he praying for the fireman to supply enough pressure? MrWolf
That's an atmospheric little scene and a rather familiar old Bentley too. 3
RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted April 23, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 23, 2021 In between trains, the station falls quiet. Just the gentle mumblings of passengers awaiting the next arrival.
RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted April 24, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 24, 2021 Its easy to forget just how much horses were still used, although I think this was rapidly starting to diminish in the early 60s.
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted April 24, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 24, 2021 We used to get a rag and bone man to come around with a horse and cart, he disappeared in the early 60s. 1
Nick Gough
Our milkman, from a local dairy, in Harrow, Middlesex, still used a horse and cart up until the late 1960s.

RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted April 28, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 28, 2021 One of the crew appear to be assisting the guard to fully release vacuum from the cylinders under the coach. I guess they might have been dragging on the way down.

RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted May 1, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 1, 2021 Sorry, I forgotten to crop the image. If you take a closer look at the train in the platform, the composition of the image looks much better. 12
RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted May 2, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 2, 2021 Another view of the car cameo. Sadly the figures got knocked over so are in a slightly different position now. And a closer crop, but I prefer the wider one as it captures the old gate and poster. (I have also now invested in a pot of tacky wax.)
