RMweb Gold Popular Post Chris Chewter Posted October 8, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 8, 2021 As we head our way towards the weekend, I thought I'd post the other two photos of the Dapol Railcar at Tetbury taken from the hill. Railcar getting ready to depart And making its way towards Kemble. Have a good weekend folks!
Ponthir28
It makes the layout look much bigger than it is. Lovely. 1
RMweb Gold Popular Post Chris Chewter Posted November 21, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 21, 2021 Sorry for not posting for a while. I’ve been busy doing design work for other modellers. However I’ve been able to make a few improvements to Tetbury. Firstly the control panel. No more dodgy marker pen numbers and a turntable control box from an old layout. Now we have a far nicer panel to use. Ive still got to iron out some of the gremlins, like why the lights to Point 9 have stopped working, and the track power light needs reconnecting, but hopefully you’ll agree that looks a lot tidier than the old panel! I also wanted a sign on the edge of the layout similar to Little Burford. So I’ve came up with this: Which was great until someone pointed out that as this is Tetbury in the late 50s, it should have a BR logo. No worries, I chuckled, prised off the GWR logo and fitted a BR one. 21
RMweb Gold The Fatadder Posted November 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 24, 2021 What was the source of your control panel? Very impressive looking
RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted November 29, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 29, 2021 (edited) The control panel started off as a Grange and Hodder split-top control panel. https://www.graingeandhodder.co.uk/product-page/split-top-control-panel I ended up laser cutting the cover, adding the holes for the switches and text. RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted December 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 7, 2021 (edited) Its useful watching it back because it shows that I really need to raise the height of those backscenes! (And remove the track pins!) Edited April 3, 2022 by Chris Chewter

RMweb Gold Chris Chewter Posted December 13, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 13, 2021 Thanks. It’s amazing just how much didn’t make it into the final programme. That was the end product of about two days filming!

wamwig
Nice to see Tetbury on the TV tonight and a bit of the background to the layout (which is now leading me to reading the whole topic!) and noticed that your garage still had the up and over door and wasn't insulated, so do you have any problems with damp etc? MrWolf
Great to see the layout on TV tonight, I spotted lots of little details I hadn't noticed before, as well as just how big the model actually is. Nice to see that your children take an interest too. 1
