I think I prefer to see the field after the deer reclaimed the grazing rights last year.

All the fuss about rehoming the Great Crested newts and not a word from anyone about the looking after the deer.

Deer populations are on the increase in the UK and cannot be considered "endangered"

They will just find somewhere else to graze.

They do look better than a building site, however!👍

I have a feeling that most, if not all deer present in the UK are technically not a native species!

Lots of people don't realise that Rabbits are an import by William the Conquers lot and were not present in the UK till after 1066 (as opposed to the humble hare which IS native to the UK) and I think the Normans were also responsible for deer as it gave them something for the new toffs to hunt (once they had cleared out those pesky Anglo Saxon villagers from places like the New Forrest.

Only Roe Deer and Red Deer are native species. Fallow, Muntjac, Sika and Chinese Water deer 🦌 are all introduced species.

The mountain hare is indigenous, but the brown hare was introduced during the iron age.

In railway news, Cock Lane has acquired a CCTV camera, road/rail cherry pickers and trolleys have arrived.

The three transformers to the left of the white van for the OHLE have been here for a couple of weeks and some of dilapidated pallets of insulators have turned up.  Not sure what is going on, the transformers are faded and dirty so may have already had replacements installed.

The gentleman had just been inside and probably fired up a diesel generator as smoke can be seen coming through the roof vent.

Probably the same driver who dumped the van a few weeks ago.  Doesn't look to be much wrong with it other than a flat front tyre.

Strange that fleet management hasn't recovered their missing vehicle.😮

I should have checked it out more thoroughly, it could have been full of Amazon goodies.😁

Nah.

The local ne'er do wells probably emptied it before it was dumped.

The Lloyds data centre is progressing.  We have had the non-stop constant rhythm of piling all day and every day this week.  At least Network Rail sent us written warning when they intended to start piling.  I guess the state the banking industry is in at the moment that Lloyds couldn't afford the exhorbitant postage costs to send out letters.😁

This was Wednesday, the whole field should be covered with piles by now at the rate they were going in.

Usual double standards I'm afraid

NR, as with all public bodies, live in constant fear of uneducated MPs / councillors making a huge fuss on behalf of their constituents - who are effectively said organisations shareholders

Private sector bodies by contrast  don't really care too much about the general public (as long as they keep buying stuff) as said public don't have a say in how the organisation is run and so have far more leeway when it comes to annoying said public.
