Help Finding Article

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I hope someone can help me here, about a couple of weeks ago

I'm sure, no, I know I read a post about a lifting section (in front of

a door) that used pasting table hinges and 2 unusually shaped

bits of plywood to lift the section clear of the baseboard.

There was also a link in the post to a similar hinge assembly, but

in steel, it was quite substantial!

I have searched back for a month (that's 85 pages!) and also tried

the search box using every variation of lifting/hinged section/flap

and wallpapering/pasting hinges that I can think of, can anyone

put me out of my misery and point me in the right direction?

Thanks Rob,

But no, those are lift-out sections, not hinged.

The one I'm looking for is definitely hinged.

The hinge point is under the fixed baseboard,

and nothing shows above, the 2 interestingly

shaped pieces of ply allow the section to end

up well above, and back from the edge of, the

fixed baseboard.

No I haven't, but then I don't normally,

so it's unlikely that's where I would have seen it.

But the fact that you remember the article gives

me hope that I'm not imagining it!

Thanks Dave,

Found it on page 4, trouble is, I can't work out

how I got there in the first place!

Maybe it was via another link.

Now I can get on with stealing the idea (with

a bit of modification) for the club's layout!

Cheers, Jeff

Like it.  I'm glad I chipped in now.  My contribution was no use whatsoever but has led me to something interesting that I had missed when originally posted.  (Thanks Jeff and Dave.)

Glad you like it Jeff. If I were doing it again I'd try a bit harder to make it go "over centre" when it's up so that would stay up even if the bolt came out.

That's an interesting possibility, I might consider the same.

Unfortunately it's on hold at the moment as we've got a problem

with the floor that I'm having to resolve.

On the up-side, I've discovered your brilliant thread, which I'm now

reading and enjoying!
