Crosland
RMweb is storing cookies despite me clicking "Cancel" rather than "OK" when asked to confirm my understanding and acceptance of cookies. i believe this is in violation of EU privacy laws https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-pecr/cookies-and-similar-technologies/ By clicking cancel rather than OK I have not given my consent to cookies being stored. I discovered this accidentally when I clicked cancel by mistake. When I opened RMWeb again I was not asked for consent and cookies had been saved. The same behaviour occurs on two different windows 7 machines using Chrome.

But I feel a PM to Andy Y might have been a more tactful way of raising something that clearly matters to you, may indeed be in breach of this and that, but matters to some of us not one jot. Well I for one am glad this issue has been raised on an open forum.
Peter Kazmierczak
Ian, is your new avatar a violation of EU cookie law?

RMweb Gold wombatofludham Posted August 8, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 8, 2016 Well so long as Andy's rogue cookies aren't burrowing into my offshore bank accounts I don't really mind. The only thing I wouldn't want him to know about (apart from my Isle of Man bank details) is my bus porn habit. Seriously though if there is a non-compliance with the EU Cookie law then it's worth fixing to avoid any problems for Andy and the team.
leopardml2341
I bet there are other sites that many people use with much more fearsome 'Cookie Monsters'. I'll open the bidding with Facebook
Andy Y
There may be a bug in the software module for it which I will look into in due course however the notification is clear in stating the site uses cookies, so all it is not doing then is clearing them after that session.
