Our 50th anniversary exhibition featuring over 30 layouts and demonstrators from around the country. We have tried to bring layouts not seen in the area before plus a few local favourites and some which feature models from 50 years (or more ago).

A new feature of our show this year is our "club room". This is a dedicated room in which we will present a number of current layout projects currently being undertaken within the club plus our drive a train layout. Possibly the most exciting new development in this room will be our new modelling tables where children (old and young) can try their hand at kit building under the watchful eye and guidance of our members. We thank Peco, Freestone Models and Squires for their support with these tables.

Looking forward to visiting this exhibition as its only a 15 minute bus journey from home, I'm hoping to be there when the doors open on the Saturday morning as its the 50th anniversary of the club and in conjunction with Wessex Wagons a limited edition wagon, A & C Barnes Of Gosport ( Coal Merchants ) has been produced for the show and a few of these will be ideal for my layout.

I visited the show on Saturday, headed straight for the Wessex Wagons stand and purchased five of the limited edition A & C Barnes Gosport Coal Merchant wagons which is ideal for my home layout, next was a chat with Dave Jones and a butchers at his soon to be released class 71's these will hopefully be available ( fingers crossed ) in a couple of months from now, I explained to Dave that I have all three Hornby versions but did say that I will be buying at least four of his 71's when they become available, whilst at Dave's stand he had the RMweb Hunslet Austerity on show and for sale, I kept looking at it on and off deciding on wether to make a purchace or not, I had to keep adverting my eyes as I had left my sun glasses at home !

In the end I gave in and took one home, back to the show and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it with many nice layouts on show my personal favourite was Horton Gill and it was of no surprise to learn later it won best in show, a big thank you to everyone involved in the organisation and i for one will be making a return visit next year

A very good show, enjoyed it.

I too took a look at the DJM products and was impressed. Regrettably DJM himself was very engrossed in his laptop whenever I passed the stand so inevitably I didn't wish to disturb him. As I didn't see him in conversation with anyone else either I assume that all the other attendees took the same approach.

A very good show, the club members were friendly and there was a wide range of excellent layouts. I shall go again next year.

Regards

Here's looking forward to 2017

Mike

I would like to thank Fareham & District MRC for inviting us to the show and putting on a superb show at a venue that has allowed the show to grow yet again.  I remember having a stand at the old community centre in Fareham through Wickham and North Harbour to this magnificent site.  Long my your success continue and here's to the next 50 years.

I must agree with everyone. It was an excellent show, well attended and well organised. Kept busy the whole weekend with "How do you do that?" questions and general interest from the public.

Chris

Maybe at the start, but they only get dirty again....

To echo Disgusting's comments, The MRC team had a great time with Minories too, and spent some time enjoying the rest of the layouts. Next stop Royston...
