Neil McGrath
Can anyone suggest an HO model of a tipper truck circa 1960s/70s where the load carrying area is hinged so that it can lift up? Thanks Neil
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted November 18, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 18, 2016 Hi Neil, When you say HO..... Do you mean US or European HO? Thanks
BernardTPM
The Matchbox Bedford tipper no.3 (b) is near enough H0 scale and has a movable back and tailgate.
Neil McGrath
Hi Neil, When you say HO..... Do you mean US or European HO? Thanks This is for a kids Thomas the tank engine layout so exact scale is not critical. Most of the other vehicles are 1:76.
Alcanman
How about this HO Iveco truck made by Herpa. Possibly a bit more modern than your time frame, but a nice model. Mal
Neil McGrath
The Matchbox Bedford tipper no.3 (b) is near enough H0 scale and has a movable back and tailgate. That is the sort of thing I am after, although I would prefer something with a glazed cab. The represented vehicle needs to 1960s/70s rather than the model itself, so something recently manufactured would be fine. I quite like the Oxford Diecast vehicles, but the backs do not appear to move without some modification.
Neil McGrath
I think I might have found what I am after. It is the Corgi Trackside Guy Big J Tipper. Thanks for the suggestions and let me know if you spot anything else that might fit the bill. Neil
BernardTPM
Ah, so you didn't want an H0 one after all! Yes, quite a nice 00 model that. Incidentally the Big J cab was quite popular as a Freightliner tractor in the late 60s to late '70s.
