RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted March 18, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 18, 2010 Does anyone know where I could acquire a traditional set of steam drivers overalls? This sort of thing: Try contacting a Heritage railway near you (they probably don't stock them but would know where to get them) or search engine it. I have seen an ad in Steam Railway magazine as well. Hope this helps? I got a grease top from a well known wildlife park in Berkshire (I think it's Berkshire?)! wollastonblue
When I worked in the Workwear industry, they were made of Cotton Drill. Try some like Alexander or Portwest. Whether you can find them in cotton drill rather than Polycotton I don't know. Cheers

RMweb Gold Trevellan Posted March 22, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 22, 2010 I used John Beesley for my overalls and got my greasetop from Longleat - don't laugh. Some of my footplate colleagues refer to my style of cap as a helicopter landing pad because of their construction. Unfortunately, the more traditional, softer style of cap is getting harder to come by - the last I saw were on sale by the Bulleid Society.
