Or stick a flyer in the Co-Op. Most of the publicity was via here, UK model shops, Facebook and the magazine's exhibition listings pages. It was still a well-attended and successful event; there's a surprising number of modellers in the village and the surrounding area, they even have clandestine meetings in the room above a pub each month!
