Buses and Belmont Station

Surprisingly, at this time no bus route served Belmont station as you can see at https://media.timeout.com/images/103552311/image.jpg. However if you want to use a little artistic licence, at this time the station was almost on the border between the Central (red) and Country (green) areas, so you could justify both (perhaps running empty as a short cut).

If so, then in the late 1930s the following would be accurate/plausible:

  • AEC 4Q4 in green (made by Corgi Original Omnibus Company) - some were repainted red and there's at least one variant of this model available in red, but in real life none got a coat of red paint until after the war
  • AEC STL class (made by Exclusive First Editions) in red
  • AEC 10T 10 in green (EFE) - again some became red after the war and models in red are available
  • AEC Renown single decker 'Scooter' in red (made by Model Buses, look for codes MBLT01 and 02) -  expensive but very typical of outer suburban London in the 1930s
  • Leyland 'Cub' REC in red (Jotus) - again expensive but very nice
  • The Leyland STD class of prewar buses (STD1 to STD100) were garaged at Hendon so that's plausible (EFE again). STD 101 and upwards were wartime or prewar. All are available so make sure you pick STD1-100 only.

Don't put any kind of RT bus on, even the so-called 'prewar' version was delivered from 1941 onwards.
