I wonder if the footpath to the gated crossing goes anywhere - or is it used by the pigs to watch the trains go by?

It is part of a public footpath (or fore runner at least) network that runs from the lane over the road bridge (brook) through the farm past the pig sty up over the railway line, then winds its way through the wood coming out by a dirt track that goes over the main line using the occupation bridge.

It's quite a walk I can tell you as I have done it a few times now.......😉😉

They are empty so must taking the mystery load from Buccaneer?

Wasn’t Buccaneer suspected of smuggling cannonballs originally?

Not that I was aware but Snowflake was allegedly smuggling toilet rolls at the start of the pandemic

Are you sure because I heard down the pub that it was pasta and flour. You couldn't make some enquiries could you. Perhaps that chap sitting on the quay side steps might know.

A new wagon has appeared in the LM roster.

A Parkside Beetle prize cattle wagon no less

This is an early one 1909 to diagram W7 but I noticed in from my GWR wagon book and a photo from Warwickshire Railways website that some of these had hand and grab rails so whether totally correct or not mine now does.

One set of steps as well so I removed the other side that was moulded from the ends, some mention of a water tank lid but can't find any pictures of that so left off for now.

The other one I made earlier is the 1927 version and that seems to have just grab rails (in one picture it has lamp irons as well???)

Here is is sitting in the bay siding poising for a picture

A cow friend of mine always gets excited when she sees a Beetle go by because it usually brings a bull. She says it ought to have 1st class markings, like the humans’  best coaches.

You have a cow friend?

I was going to suggest that was a bit strange, until I remembered that I divorced one....

Did anyone notice any cowpats left on the cattle dock after these wagons had been loaded?
