Rob Pulham
The last few days working on the B16 have been spent on making up the rather prominent cylinder crain cocks and their operating mechanism from the ends of JLRT coach vacuum or some such pipes of which I had four in my spares box and scrap etch. I also made up and fitted the rear sand pipes. Tonight I reassembled it and took the following photos before dropping it off at Warren's for painting. Plus a few arty shots to finish 7
RMweb Premium macgeordie Posted November 1, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 1, 2017 Another beautiful job Rob, I thought I had a lot of patience but I think the amount of work you have had to put into that Locomotive would have driven me mad. sir douglas
excellent, though it looks a little odd that the boiler and smokebox are a single surface and no boilerband to seperate them
RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted November 1, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 1, 2017 excellent, though it looks a little odd that the boiler and smokebox are a single surface and no boilerband to seperate them Boilerbands will probably be fitted during painting, possibly just lining transfers. Rob Pulham
excellent, though it looks a little odd that the boiler and smokebox are a single surface and no boilerband to seperate them I must admit it took me a while to cotton to the fact that the boiler/smoke box was all one piece. Probably because that bit had already been done when I took over the build. Boilerbands will probably be fitted during painting, possibly just lining transfers. You have it Paul, Warren will be fitting the band during painting. he prefers that to having to deal with oversized bands. I did mark the boiler top with where they should go though. Rob Pulham
A belated finish to this thread. I was contacted by Paul Moore who ended up painting this loco to see if I would like some photos of the finished loco. He has made a smashing job of it and the photos are copyright of Paul and posted with his kind permission 17

Couldn't agree more, on both counts!
