john flann
Has any one used this stuff? If so how was it, and can it be removed readily?
RMweb Gold mikes rail Posted April 7, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2017 Hi, used it on a couple of projects. Very simple to apply no pre wetting needed and dried in under 24 hours. Ballast stayed in place as it was applied. Have not yet had need to try and remove it.
RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted April 7, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2017 Hi Used on office layout and very controllable, non staining and cleaned off railheads with damp cloth and a wooden coffee stirrer no problems, quick drying with Woodland scenics grey ballast mix. Price might be an issue over bog cheap PVA/ wetting agent of choice. But as a shake and use solution in a bottle it is very good. I would expect heavy wetting to soften for recovery as its part of the pva family but with a good quality wetting agent. Robert
RMweb Premium Roger Sunderland Posted April 7, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 7, 2017 Excellent product does what it says on the can. Still found it helped if ballast was misted with water first though. Don't know about remove able.
dseagull
Had nothing but problems with it, as soon as I touched the apparently set ballast the bond disintegrated.
