PECO GR-105 couplings available

Not  sure  if  this   has  been   flagged  yet.

 

Peco  are now  listing  their   HOOP & Peg  couplings  as  fitted  to  the  slate  wagons  as  a  spare part  packed in  12s  for  around  £3.75

 

They  fit  into  NEM  coupling  pockets.

 

Could be  useful  where  fixed  rakes  are  in  use,  but consideration  will have  to  be given  to  sharp  layout  curves,  they  should be  OK  with  4 wheel  stock , bogie  vehicles could be  a  problem,  only  testing  will tell!

 

Hattons  & Kernow  have  stock  as   presumably  other  retailers  have

These couplings allow very close coupling of vehicles in fixed rakes. For a comparison I made up a train of Peco coaches using three pairs of different types of couplings.

 

From left to right they are:

 

Peco GR-105 peg & hoop.

 

Dapol short fixed knuckle .

 

Peco GR-102 009 'Bemo' type.

 

The ones at the ends are Greenwich NEM types.
