Thanks Guys....as you said, only half a coach, with no unique features visible...plated over windows, vents, grills etc.

 It could well be a BSK!!

  Its coupled next to LAB 14 Wren, but apart from the ex class 84 loadbank in the foreground, there are no more clues??

I think it may well be Prometheus.

was going to say prometheus too, only because it seemed to be the only one that consistently had a white roof.

the pic of Lab 11 with white roof is from 1985, but at least until may 23 1984 it had a rather tatty normal roof: https://www.flickr.com/photos/38339202@N00/10174134475

also, Lab 11 was in the fixed formation Tribometer train, coupled next to the loco 97201 'Experiment' (the Auto-trailer being on the other end). so i'd have thought it doubtful for it be shunted up against Lab 14 'Wren' (which was an acoustics test vehicle)

 

I suppose it would ultimately depend on when the OP's pic was taken
