SEE ANNESLEY WOODHOUSE AT MANSFIELD SHOW THIS WEEKEND

Earlier this evening, Shaun and I went to the venue to set up Annesley Woodhouse for the exhibition.

Not the start to the week we were hoping for...

...after setting up the layout, it appeared that several wires had pulled out of the connections. Points were only working on one board and signals were either not working correctly or not working at all!

Not the best day to forget to take your toolbox either!  :banghead:

:help: Thanks to Ian for the loan of his soldering iron and to Shaun  :crazy_mini: for having better eyesight than me and sorting out the wires!

At least when we left the venue, everything was working as it should be ready for tomorrow

Cheers

Simon

IT WORKED! - ALL DAY!

We had a far better day today, Annesley Woodhouse ran faultlessly all day and all problems were down to 'operator error' (yes, including me!)

Thanks to everyone that chatted to us and we will see more of you tomorrow

LEGS

I have been fitting legs to the layout, and my other layout Jubilee Road Wagon Works, to replace the trestles I currently use.  Photos to follow when the legs are complete - Going to work is getting in the way of layout progress again!

Here is a quick snap I grabbed while the layout was folded up.  I still need to bolt on the leg stays then I'll get a photo of the layout upright.

NEWS

Yesterday Andy York visited us to photograph some of our layouts for appearances in BRM.  He photographed my layouts "Annesley Woodhouse" and "Jubilee Road", Shaun's "Ripley" and our group (M.R.P.G) project "Depot Lane"

It was a very enjoyable day and if the sample images we have already received are anything to go by, the photos will be amazing!

Thanks to Shaun for letting us turn his house into an exhibition hall for the day :declare:

Cheers

Here is another photo of the legs...

The legs are 34 inches tall, which gives a better viewing height!

TESTING BEFORE EXHIBITING!

With the Ruddington Exhibition nearing, 30th June / 1st July 2018, I thought it wise to give the layout a track clean and test run... The following is the first of six videos taken today while testing.

Matt's Direct Rail Services class 66 leaves the Annesley Woodhouse sidings

Another of Matt's locos, heavily weathered DRS Class 37, fitted with Legomanbiffo sound, leaves the bay at Annesley Woodhouse to enter the sidings

Thanks for watching

RUDDINGTON DAY 1

Ready for viewing...

Everything ran spot on (apart from the odd operator mistake!) and Annesley Woodhouse seemed to be well received by the visitors.  Hopefully Day 2 will be as good!

RUDDINGTON DAY 2

Everything did run smoothly, no problems with the layout again - exactly what we wanted!

Annesley Woodhouse during the exhibition (photo by Shaun)

Annesley Woodhouse had a lot of good feedback from the public and interest from a couple of Exhibition Managers.  The younger visitors liked it because they could see what they see on the real railway near where they live and that it was their favourite layout!  (I suspect only because Thomas wasn't there!)

I would like to thank the other M.R.P.G members (Shaun, Paul and Mark) for coming along and helping me set up and operate AW over the weekend.

I would also like to thank the organizers for inviting us to the exhibition.  We all enjoyed the hospitality and friendly atmosphere at the show, Well Done!  :good:

Thanks for reading

Simon
