springs branch
It was finally announced on Saturday that Serco will hand over the operation of the Network Rail test trains to DB Schenker. The winners for the contracts are Infrastructure Monitoring Operations - DB Schenker Infrastructure Monitoring Maintenance - RVEL Plain Line Rail Grinding - Balfour Beatty S&C Rail Grinding - Harsco Due to the late announcement, Serco will continue to undertake the top 3 for approximately 3 months to allow TUPE agreements to take place. It is thoughts that the contract still stipulates that the NR owned 31's/DBSO/NMT/TRU must still be used. Not sure what effect this will have on use of the DRS 37's (not sure length of current contract) or what will be used on other trains. Sad days for Serco employees. RMweb Premium newbryford Posted April 2, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 2, 2010 Shame to hear that. I hope you and your fellow Serco drivers find useful employment elsewhere. Cheers, Mick
